To celebrate the upcoming holidays, honor our grief and share the love of our babies, Three Little Birds hosted its first annual Gathering of the Grinches event! This event was sponsored by our legacy project, Spencer's Corn Hole Tournament, by her parents Ryan and Chelsea, in memory of their daughter, Spencer Jean!
The overall message at our event is that, even when the Grinch thought it impossible, his heart still grew three sizes. Healing is possible even if you can’t see what it looks like! We have a diverse support offering planned for 2023 that can help our perinatal loss families find the healing they need.
Nearly two dozen loss families gathered for an afternoon of grinchin, games and grub....including roast beast! We also had several activities for guests to enjoy including our Reindeer Games, sponsored by Aubree's Adventures, where participants won additional chances for our grand prize giveaway!
We also hosted an ugly holiday sweater/shirt contest which did not disappoint! Congrats to Mila's parents Qunizell & Yesenia and William and Hawthorn's dad, Greg Fignenshu for winning our contest! Each received a gift certificate for service or products at our Community Partner, Float Haven Spa in Pitman, NJ!
Two legacy projects, Zara's Tootsies & Xander's Nursery hosted a fundraiser where attendees can purchase personalized ornaments and other holiday decor. All funds raised go directly to supporting families our nest!
Additionally, we hosted a self-care gift exchange - mom, dad or couple gifts were available. We asked participants to bring a self-care item that has helped them during their grief.
After some who-hash grubbing and dessert, our nest settled in for a fun reading of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas during our Grinch Game where one parent went home with a $100 Amazon gift card, one received five extra chances towards winning our Grand Prize and three others received socks!
One parent, however, was deemed the Grinch and had the opportunity to "steal" one of the other gifts! Erin Epstein was donned the Grinch and decided NOT to steal another gift and because of her generosity, she was gifted a certificate to Float Haven Spa!
Before everyone left, we pulled our winner for our 40" Samsung Smart TV. Low and behold, our Grinch herself won! Congrats to Erin and Tori Epstein for winning our Grand Prize!!!
Thank you to all of the parents from our nest who attended our Signature Event, shared their journey, comforted and validated another and laughed with us during a difficult holiday season for many! Below are some more pics of our fun event!
