Three Little Birds hosted it's second Bereaved Father's Day event at the Phillies thanks to the Swiderski Family (in memory of Colin and Peanut), the Sumas Foundation, the Williams and Latcham Families (in memory of Anthony) and the Wawa Foundation!
The goal of this event is to honor perinatal loss dads and no-birthing parents to an evening of fun and connection with others who are walking similar journeys while family building. Our events focus on bring families into safe spaces so that organic friendships can develop. Our nest has seen several couples who connected through our events who now consider each other extended family and those who truly "get it" as they navigate miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal loss.
This year, we saw nearly three dozen loss families and their loved ones to an evening with the Phillies. This year, our event saw dads, grandparents, non birthing parents and siblings gather to support each other and make connections with others.
Thanks to our sponsors, Three Little Birds covered the cost of a pair of tickets, parking and a gift bag which included a dad's grief support book, a memorial bracelet and a gift card to WaWa to cover the cost of gas or a post-game snack. It is our goal to keep our events free or as affordable as possible as we recognize many families experience unexpected financial burdens after loss.
