What is the Wave of Light - A Global Day of Remembrance

Every year on October 15th at 7 PM, families across the world come together to honor the lives of babies gone too soon through miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss. This powerful event, known as the Global Wave of Light, takes place in every time zone, creating a continuous 24-hour wave of glowing candles around the globe.


Lighting a candle is a simple act, but it carries deep meaning. For grieving parents and loved ones, it’s a way to:


  • Honor their baby’s memory

  • Connect with a global community of families walking similar journeys

  • Raise awareness about pregnancy and infant loss


At Three Little Birds, we are honored to participate in this annual tradition. Our families light candles together at our Wave of Light ceremony, and then take them home to join the global remembrance on October 15th. For many, this moment offers comfort, connection, and the reminder that their baby’s light will never fade.


✨ Since 2018, Three Little Birds has hosted a local Wave of Light event each October. Families, providers, and advocates gather in community to honor babies and support one another. Each family receives a memorial candle to light during the ceremony and to take home, creating a personal connection to the global remembrance on October 15th. Together, we shine a light on the importance of acknowledging loss, supporting families, and breaking the silence around pregnancy and infant loss.
