Three Little Birds hosted its Father’s Day BBQ/Disc Golf Competition this past weekend at New Brooklyn Disc Golf Park in Winslow, NJ! Sponsored by Cosmic Disc Golf of Cherry Hill and Floating World Tattoo, our dad’s were treated to a beginners competition and introduction to disc golf, an outdoor sport growing in popularity on the East Coast. Cosmic Disc Golf supplied the equipment and Three Little Birds personalized each dad’s discs with their baby’s name!
While the dad’s got to socialize and hang, the moms were treated to a free personalized dreamcatcher craft in memory of their baby, facilitated by loss mama, Dominique, in memory of her son Luca Grey. She makes personalized dreamcatchers for other loss mama as a legacy project under Three Little Birds called Grey Skies. Both activities allowed parents a safe sacred space to share their stories, fears and joys of bereaved parenthood with others walking similar journeys. Just as with all our events, strangers arrive and leave with new friends and a nest of support.
Congratulations to Lilly-Anna’s dad Pat for winning first place and Tela’s dad Cody for scoring second place in our Dad’s Disc Golf competition! We were excited to hear all the dads say they were interested in learning more about disc golf and meeting up again this summer to play together again!
