DUE TO AN OVERWHELMING RESPONSE - WE ARE CLOSING OUR WEDDING DRESS COLLECTION EARLY.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out and donated their gown for our program! We set a goal of collecting 50 gowns and we have been promised more than double that!
If you have already submitted for your gown to be accepted a Three Little Birds Volunteer will in contact with you over the next few days. If you were hoping to donate before the end of the month, please note we will be hosting another collection drive in October 2021. However, our program/donation guidelines have changed:
Donated gowns must be located within 50 miles of Philadelphia and either dropped off at a Community Sponsor location or pick up scheduled by a Three Little Birds volunteer.
If we do not have a volunteer in your area, you can drop off at a location or ship to us (we cannot cover expenses).
We will not accept pick ups/drop offs in large/preservation boxes. Dresses must be bagged.
All donation applications must be made through the form. We will not respond to emails/texts/calls as they clog up our support request lines. All details are provided in the blog/google form.
Once gowns are collected and deconstructed there is no way of knowing where the finished angel gowns end up. We will not be able to provide tracking of your donation after collected by Three Little Birds.
A donation tax letter for IRS purposes can be provided upon request - please email js.threelittlebirds@gmail.com.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Twice a year in March and October, Three Little Birds will accept cleaned wedding gowns to then be deconstructed and repurposed into beautiful Angel Gowns for babies who pass away.
From March 1 through the 31, you can donate your gently worn dress to Three Little Birds. We will then provide these garments to our volunteer seamstresses to create beautiful gowns for us to then give to the hospitals we serve for families experiencing loss to have a beautiful burial garment. Families can bury their baby in this gown or retain it as a keepsake.
We accept pale pink, pale blue and lavender bridesmaid gowns in addition to wedding gowns. We do not accept any other colors or any other type of formal gowns or formal wear at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
If you would like to contribute to our Angel Gown Program there are several options:
Donate your garment - First, complete our donation request form. (NOTE: THIS FORM IS CLOSED AS OF 3/15). A volunteer will be in contact with you to arrange pick up/drop off. Local pick up (PA – Philadelphia, Delaware, Montgomery and Bucks counties; NJ – Camden, Gloucester and Burlington counties).
We have several drop off locations available as well:
REMIX FITNESS – 116 Welsh Road, Horsham, PA
FLOAT HAVEN SPA – 110 North Woodbury Road, Pitman, NJ
WONDERTIME, LLC - 1245 Delsea Drive, Westville, NJ
IMAGE IS EVERYTHING STUDIOS - 230 N Woodbury Rd, Pitman, NJ 08071
A note about shipping - If you would like to ship your garment, we recommend and request that you package your gown in the smallest box possible. Please do not ship your wedding gown in a preservation box as it is extremely costly for you to do so. We suggest that you remove your gown from large boxes, remove all crinoline from the underskirt of your gown and then simply fold and place your gown neatly in as small a shipping box as possible. At this time, we cannot cover the cost of shipping the donated garments. An address to ship to will be provided once you complete the donation request form.
Become a volunteer seamstress – Three Little Birds is seeking volunteer seamstresses to transform deconstructed gowns into angel gowns. Patterns and materials will be provided.
Support the Program with a financial donation - You may also make a donation to help with the purchase of tags, storage bags, yarn, patterns and other administrative needs. Every little bit helps!
We have been fortunate to collect dozens of gowns over the past few years to be transformed into beautiful gifts for families on the worst day of their lives. We appreciate your support and enthusiasm for this program! Check out the gallery below to see examples of some of the beautiful gowns we have provided to families!
Our donation collection will end of March 31, 2021. If you miss our spring collection, we will also accept donations again in October. Unfortunately, due to storage limitations, we cannot accept gowns outside of these dates.
