Three Little Bird's Secret Santa Gift Exchange

The holidays are hard for anyone missing a loved one, but especially for mother's missing their children. To support our families during a stressful and difficult holiday season, Three Little Birds hosted its first Secret Santa gathering at a local Italian restaurant. The event was free to attend, but you had to bring a personalized gift for another loss mom (pre-matched by our doulas).

After ordering some appetizers, we had a brief chat about the upcoming holidays, some traditions you can make with your baby and each mom was given gifts from Three Little Birds in memory of their baby including:

  • A personalized angel ornament

  • A Mama Bird self care stocking - A little gift from their babies including lotion, lip balm and a face mask - all to remind mom to take some extra care during the holidays

  • A angel memorial candle from our legacy project, Calvin's Candles

  • Our Mama Bird Empowerment gloves - as a reminder of all we do we do with their love in our hearts and actions

  • Chocolate - because.......

After dinner, our mama's exchanged gifts with each other, personalized with their match's baby's name!

Additionally, our mamas were gifted a Holiday Christmas Tree Seedling from our newest legacy project, Xander's Nursery! Xander's mom Brooke is a plant enthusiast and wants to keep his memory and legacy alive by supporting local families walking similar journeys through pregnancy and infant loss. We will be selling these seedlings locally as a fundraiser for this legacy project so that next holiday season, Three Little Birds, through Xander's Nursery, can gift one of these tree seedlings to each of our families experiencing their first Christmas without their baby.

Each mama had the opportunity to share about their experience, the support they are seeking and find out about some of the services and programs we offer that their family may be interested in in seeking physical, emotional and spiritual healing. Each mama went home with a personalized gift with their baby's name to enjoy during the holiday season.

What better gift for a loss parent than the gift of validation from another? Below are some of what our attendees had to say about the event!

We are so grateful for the mom's who came out tonight to share, seek support and provide comfort. We are very excited for the events we are seeking to host in 2022. For more info on how you can attend events like this, join our newsletter or our closed Facebook Group, Mama Bird Healing.
