On April 25, Julie and Justin Shapiro, along with our Community Sponsor, Remix Fitness, hosted a fundraiser and memorial event in honor of their daughter, Aubrey Rae, who was stillborn in September 2020.
The Aerobics for Aubrey event started when Julie was seeking to find a way to connect with her baby and find physical healing after loss. One of her favorite activities to do while pregnant was work out, so with the support of her family, friends, Remix Fitness and the local community, they hosted a fundraiser to support Three Little Bird Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support. THIS EVENT HAS RAISED MORE THAN $14,000 to support perinatal bereavement support and education for medical professionals! We are beyond overwhelmed and grateful!
This event hosted more than 75 in person and 30 virtual participants in the Philadelphia region, to come together to honor Aubrey, find physical healing in loss and raise awareness for the one in four families who walk similar journeys to parenthood through miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal loss or receive a life-limiting or uncertain fetal diagnosis.
