JOIN THE NEST
Created by Kristen Samuelson, Mama Bird Healing is a Legacy Project through Three Little Birds Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support. The intention of Mama Bird Healing is to create a nest of families in the Philadelphia/South Jersey region, walking similar journeys to family building, either through infertility, pregnancy loss or the loss of a baby after birth.
This closed nest of support includes other Mama Birds, who are also loss parents and perinatal bereavement advocates with an armor of resources, a well of empathy and the ability to empower you in your motherhood through honoring your grief and sharing your baby’s love.
The bond between mother and child is sacred. There is currently no word or phrase in the vocabulary of any language to describe the loss of a pregnancy or baby. Because we know this love is sacred, it will be forever. Mama Bird Healing seeks to strengthen your bond and connection with your baby, first through healing your mind and body, then focusing on your spirit.
We understand the ebb and flow of grief. Sometimes the need for support seems bigger than other times. That is ok. We are not going anywhere. Whether you continue your building journey or take time to figure out what is next, we are here. We can also support you with some of the following services:
Here, as part of the nest you will find:
•Weekly Facebook Live check ins with our Certified Perinatal Bereavement Doulas
•Weekly discussion topics and inspiration
•Connection with other loss families walking similar journeys
•Information on pregnancy after loss support
•Freebies and giveaways from our Community Sponsors and Etsy store
•Free information and support in developing a legacy project in memory of your baby
•A nest of support of people who “get it”
Here are the rules to join:
You must live within 50 miles of Philadelphia/Southern New Jersey. We are focusing our content and support specifically to this region.
You must be a loss mama. We will not admit medical professionals, as we want this to be truly peer-led. The exception being, the professional is a loss parent and is here to receive support, not give it. The perinatal losses we support include miscarriage, termination for medical reasons, stillbirth, neonatal loss, SIDS/SUIDs, LGBTQIA support, family building journeys involving secondary infertility and more.
Be kind and respectful. We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. While some of us have had similar birth experience or outcomes, no two mother's journeys are the same.
Respect everyone's privacy. Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. What's shared in the group should stay in the group.
Please do not identify healthcare providers or hospitals by name. When telling your story or sharing details regarding your medical care, please refrain from/omit hospital names, doctors or other hospital care providers by name. We can authentically share without these specifics.
This is a sacred space. This group will not tolerate bullying, aggressive conversation or anything not in the best interest of the group for help, healing and connection. You are welcome to share whatever is ok with you.
We are so sorry we are meeting this way. Welcome to the nest.
Love, Kristen, Desiree, Roseanne and Nicole (the Mama Birds)
Milk & Honey is one of the many vendors who offer beautiful keepsake breast milk jewelry. One thing we like about their site is the ability to purchase a DIY kit, if you'd like!
