SAVE THE DATE: SUNDAY, AUGUST 19, 2018
Three Little Bird's will host its next Craft 'N Sip event on August 19th to participate in the International Day of Hope! This beautiful day of remembrance was created by Carly Marie, who is the mama of a stillborn baby boy named Christian in Perth, Australia. Here are some words about this day from Carly's website:
"It is a day of speaking out aloud about the babies and children that are no longer here. It is a day healing and a day of HOPE. August 19th breaks the silence surrounding the death of babies and children."
We will host our third Craft 'N Sip event to gather our families to create beautiful, personal prayer/hope flags in memory of their pregnancy or baby. The prayer/hope flags are rectangular in shape and attendees will inscribe them with mantras, prayers, messages, scriptures, blessings, names, words, poems or quotes. The tradition of hanging Prayer Flags dates back thousands of years. It is believed that once the Prayer Flags are hung up, the breeze takes the prayers and carries them all over the world. Prayer Flags hold a very sacred and beautifully Divine energy. At sunset, we will hang our prayer/hope flags together as a show of support here in our community and worldwide.
WHO CAN ATTEND THIS EVENT? Anyone who has been touched by the death of a baby or child at any age or gestation is welcome to join. We also encourage young siblings to take part. We would also like to invite the infertility community to join us too. For those of you who are living through infertility we invite you to make a flag to capture your own journey. You may want to make a Flag to express your grief with trying to conceive a child or you may want to make a flag of hope for the future, it is completely up to you. You may want to share this experience with your friends and family members or support group or keep this project completely to yourself. There is no obligation for you to share this experience with anyone. Just do what is most comfortable for you.
Event details and location will be released in the upcoming weeks. Ticket price will include the materials to create a personalized prayer/hope flag as well as a professional portrait of your family with your flag. Lite food and refreshments will be served. Alcohol is BYOB and will NOT be provided.
