Come and find out what's happening with
Three Little Bird's Focus Theme for the March is SUPPORT.
But what does that mean exactly?
Our mission is to provide support services to families suffering from the loss of a pregnancy or infant or who receive a life-limiting or uncertain fetal diagnosis. What type of support is available?
For families suffering from the unexpected loss of a pregnancy via miscarriage or stillbirth, we offer immediate and long-term support through various services including infant remembrance photography, memory making and any rituals or ceremonies your family would like to participate in. It is your right to bond with your child and we advocate for that time for you.
For families who receive a life-limiting or uncertain diagnosis, we provide you with information and resources for your to make informed consent in the care of your and your child. This includes birth planning support, options for bonding and memory making, as well as supporting all your wishes and needs as your prepare for birth.
Three Little Birds is dedicated to give each unique family we serve everything they need. To do this, we conduct informal, confidential surveys to gauge the experiences, thoughts, feelings, needs and effective support of our families so we can tailor our services and programs to suit those particular needs. Additionally, we use this information to educate the medical community on how to effectively communicate, understand and empathize with patients as they endure pregnancy and infant loss. We are developing a comprehensive Perinatal Bereavement Care Workshop for hospitals to educate them on the growing field of perinatal loss. We are also proud members of the International Stillbirth Alliance and the Pregnancy Loss and Infant Death Alliance, organizations dedicated to research and the prevention of pregnancy and infant loss. Through these organizations, we are able to keep abreast to research, data, trends and additional ways we can support families.
Direct support services for families suffering from the unexpected loss of a pregnancy or infant are encouraged to review our website filled with resources and information that may be helpful. Additionally, our StillBirthday-Certified Bereavement Doulas are available to provide one-on-one empathetic, personalized care via text, email, telephone or in-person. We validate your experience, your love and the need for support and are here to walk the journey with you immediately and long-term.
For families facing uncertain or life-limiting fetal diagnosis, we provide several options to support bonding leading up to delivery. In addition to one-on-one personalized care through our Palliative Care Support Package, Three Little Birds offers complementary maternity photo shoots for families to memorialize their time together and bond. Additionally, our Program Sponsor, Wondertime, LLC, provides complementary 4D Ultrasound imaging and heartbeat bear captures for families to intimately bond with their baby in utereo. These keepsakes will be come family treasures for years to come!
Your pregnancy mattered. Your baby mattered. Your experience is real. Whether it was a few days or full-term your child is your child and not even death can break the bonds of love between a parent and their babies. Unfortunately, there are many others who cannot and/or will not understand what has happened and struggle with how to support you. Please know, it is ok. We support you. We are a nest of families who have walked similar journeys and have experienced similar changes in relationships and how we cope as loss parents moving forward.
We are here. We see you. The nest is always open for hugs and encouragement. It only gets stronger the as more families join and feel inspired by their love and loss. We encourage each other in our mourning and find healthy avenues to express grief. What you are experiencing is very real, but as much as it may seem, you are NOT alone.
We are here. Your family matters.
How can we better support you? Let us know!
